Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Water Network Engineering Assistant Consultant looking to build a successful career in the water sector. This offers an opportunity to develop your career, working as part of a well-established, integrated team of water specialists in UK consultancy. Your work will be varied and challenging; you will be responsible for providing technical output and support at a local and national level to a wide range of clients, both internal and external, serving Water Companies, Developers, Government bodies and Industry.

 

Duties may include:

  • Construction and verification of water network models to the required standards
  • Analysis of asset performance data and use of network models to develop operational solutions
  • Manipulation and interpretation of data in GIS packages
  • Manipulation and interpretation of data in spreadsheets and databases
  • Organising and undertaking of site-based investigations
  • Production of drawings
  • Preparation and checking of calculations
  • Preparation of technical reports
  • Active participation in your professional development through maintaining a training log and attending training/Continuing Professional Development days (CPD), where appropriate 

 

 

Skills / Qualifications

Ideal Candidates will have the following;

  • A qualification in an engineering discipline or other numerate or analytical discipline.
  • The ability to structure and deliver a project from scope setting and client engagement, through options assessment, to presentation of conclusions and recommendations.
  • Good report writing, data presentation and communication skills.
  • A sound knowledge of the use of spatial analysis software, such as MapInfo and ArcGIS.
  • Knowledge of the use of spreadsheets and databases to manage and assess data.
  • An inherent interest in keeping abreast of developments within the industry through engagement within the wider company and with professional bodies.
