Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for an Apprentice Pipefitter that would like to work in the nuclear industry.
Pipefitting is the laying out and marking out, cutting, forming and joining of metal pipe, which when assembled, form industrial process piping and heating/cooling systems. Typical industrial process pipe is under high pressure, which requires metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel and many different alloy metals fused together through precise cutting, threading, bending and welding.
Having been trained in the fundamental skills at a college or training centre, an apprentice can expect to go on sites such as petrochemical plants, oil refineries and other processing plants, often working in harsh conditions and at considerable heights.
Preferred results: GCSE Grades A-C in Mathematics, English and Science.
