Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is now accepting applications for our Nuclear Graduate Programme starting in 2018.  Our structured Graduate Programme will set you on the path to chartership and is consistently recognised as one of the best programmes within the industry.

As a graduate interested in developing experience in Nuclear HVAC, you will join a well-established company training scheme that comprises a period of two years on the graduate scheme followed by a career development phase. This will involve delivery and on-the job training in HVAC design activities and opportunities to develop wider engineering and project delivery skills.  This is structured to provide you with the necessary skills and experience to apply for membership of the IMechE or CIBSE and become a Chartered Engineer.


Key Elements of the Graduate Programme:

  • Accredited training with quarterly development reviews for the first two years followed by two additional years of career development leading towards chartership and more senior roles.
  • Each graduate is assigned a mentor (chartered engineer), a line manager and an HR graduate development Advisor to ensure they are supported in their personal and professional development to gain chartered status.
  • Exposure to a variety of projects to ensure well rounded development.
  • From the beginning, there is hands-on involvement working on projects with the opportunity to develop skills by working alongside experienced engineers.
  • There are opportunities for site placements in the UK during a graduate's first few years with the company.

Skills / Qualifications

  • You will need a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant engineering related discipline (suitable degrees include Mechanical, Building Services or Nuclear Engineering) to MEng level.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environments and adapt to change.
  • Eagerness to work and develop your career in Nuclear HVAC Engineering.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK
